Our Open House Topic this Month is...

Teachings on Balancing the Feminine and Masculine Principles

We will review the traditional Buddhist concepts of Feminine and Masculine energies. While the Masculine (potency, accomplishment and fearlessness) is important, the Feminine (space, accommodation and gentleness) is just as necessary and in fact, we might argue, foundational. Yet, it seems that this latter aspect is often given short-shrift in these accelerated, achievement-oriented times.  We’ll look at ways to balance these energies in our lives and look at ways we might identify those patches that are out of kilter.

We begin our Open House evenings at 7:00 p.m. with meditation instruction and a short period of sitting meditation practice.  At around 7:30, we provide either a short talk or video followed by a group discussion.

Afterwards, we adjourn for tea and snacks in our cafe-style community room and chat with Shambhala practitioners and other visitors.

There's plenty of time for visitors to ask any questions they may have and also to explore in greater depth the topic of the evening. The evening ends between 8:30 and 9:00.

    Everyone is welcome!
