Winter Solstice Children's Day Community Celebration

December 24th

Date details +
    Room: Meditation Hall

Our Shambhala community has a tradition of celebrating the changes of season. These special days of celebration are called nyida days - from nyima ("sun") and dawa ("moon"). Nyida days occur on or near the days of the spring and autumn equinoxes and the summer and winter solstices.

While all nyida days are regarded as family-oriented occasions, the winter solstice is called Children’s Day and provides an opportunity to express appreciation for and with our children.

    Schedule for the Morning:

9am to 10am - Sunday Morning Meditation and our Family Program for children will be happening concurrently. Please RSVP to Carlos Gonzalez at [email protected] with number of children you are bringing.

10am to Noon - Community Activities including storytelling and art projects!

Noon to 1 pm POTLUCK LUNCH

FISH Donation Basket: Friends In Sonoma Helping - Please donate non-perishable food items.

Family, friends & everyone is most welcome!
