"There's a reason that you can learn from everything: you have basic wisdom, basic intelligence, and basic goodness.  Therefore, if the environment is supportive and encourages you to be brave and to open your heart and mind, you'll find yourself opening to the wisdom and compassion that's inherently there.  It's the willingness to open your eyes, your heart, and your mind, to allow situations in your life to become your teacher."

from Start Where You Are

"Appreciating sacredness begins very simply by taking an interest in all the details of your life."
                                                                                                     Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
from Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior

This day of practice will consist of sitting and walking meditation as well as group discussion lead by long time meditation practitioner and teacher in Shambhala Jesse Miller. A day of practice helps us to connect with the notion of basic human goodness: that at our core, each of us is fundamentally wise and compassionate. Habitual speed and aggression can obscure this reality, but through a day of practice, we can reconnect to the true source of our strength and inspiration.

About The Teacher:

Jesse Miller has been a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for over 40 years. He is a Senior Teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist Tradition and has worked on several large programs with Ani Pema Chödrön. Jesse is known for his welcoming manner as well as his big hearted and accessible teaching style. Currently, Jesse lives with his wife Evelyn in the Bay Area.

Please join us for a day of practice, contemplation, and discussion on joining everyday experience with the path of warriorship!
